A documentary about life in Stockholm’s Gamla Stan district. The film is a lyrical, realistic study of the city’s down-and-out, alcoholics, and elderly. Peter Weiss said his film was about “people in the middle of an affluent society lying in the street and – in Sweden – looking almost idyllic. This is not really a film, it is more like journal entries, scenes as they played out”.
