In this puppet animation, the scenery from Édouard Manet’s painting “Luncheon on the Grass“ (1863) takes centre stage due to rather odd events. To the music of Ravel’s Bolero, four drunkards of both sexes perform a breakneck open air ballet that leads to a celebratory ending.
The film is part of the short film programme A New Look at Old Masters.
