A disturbing look into South Africa's booming private security industry. Behind barbed wire, young people chill in the park while smoking shisha, guarded by uniformed officers. The guards talk candidly about their work, and the camera follows them during paramilitary training and on missions employing drones. A tableau of Johannesburg emerges, characterised by surveillance and latent fear.
The film is part of the short film programme Nordic Shorts 3: On the Margins.
