A new day dawns on the civil war in the Central African Republic. In a shared room outside the city, men and women from all over the world sleep under mosquito nets, distant gunshots ringing in their ears. The film is based on true events that happened on Christmas Eve in 2013, during a Doctors without Borders (MSF) mission in Bangui. The story is told from the perspective of 35-year-old Linn. She is the safety officer responsible for the security of the courageous aid workers. During the night, the bloody clashes between Muslims and Christians once again come to a head. The day's best driving route to the makeshift hospital is discussed; on the way there, the team is confronted with heavily armed Christian militias conducting checks. A short time later, the fighters threaten violence when demanding the handover of a Muslim man who has taken refuge in the hospital. Linn must act quickly, balancing the safety of her team with the value of a single human life.
