Photographer Richard Fleischhut's Jounry North (1925)
From the family holdings of Ingrid Peckskamp-Lürssen, Berlin
Norway was already a popular travel destination in the Roaring Twenties. Luxury cruises to barren polar regions were particular attractions. This exhibit shows a selection of historic nature photos by cruise photographer Richard Fleischhut (1881-1951). During an exclusive polar jounry on the Lloyd steamer "München" in 1925, he took spectacular photos which served as both souvenirs for the travelers, and as advertisements for the shipping company.
