Streaming FAQ

After registering for an account at our partner Kulturserver’s streaming platform, selected films from this year’s Nordische Filmtage Lübeck will be available for streaming at from November 4 to 8, 2020. 

Which films can be streamed?
Currently, a total of almost 140 films will be available for streaming. On the NFL Programme overview page, films available for streaming are marked with an icon. Clicking on the icon will take you to the streaming site. You can also browse the available films at

How can I access and pay for the streamed films?
To access the streamed films, you must first set up an account at Payment is made via that site.

When can I watch the films?
The streamed films will be available from Wednesday, November 4, 2020 for the duration of the festival, until November 8, 2020. Once you have paid for a film and started playing it, you will have 24 hours to watch it as often as you like. Details on availability and any exceptions are listed underneath the “rent film” button.

Are there any restrictions on the streaming?
The streaming platform can only be used from inside Germany due to geoblocking. A few of the films are subject to a maximum number of rentals and may therefore not be available. Those films are marked as such underneath the “rent film” button, as well as at the bottom of the film synopsis.

Can I use AirPlay, Chromecast, or other apps?
Yes. If you have Chromecast or AirPlay, you can watch the films on a smart TV.

When can I register for the streaming?
Beginning Nov. 2, 2020, you can register for an account at by clicking on “Login”. All you need is an e-mail address and a password.

When can I start purchasing film rentals?

How much does the streaming cost?
Films can be “rented” and watched via streaming for 7 euros (normal price) or 9 euros (which includes a 2 euro donation).

What are the payment options?
You can pay using PayPal or a credit card.

How do I register?
Go to the streaming portal and set up a user account (by clicking on “login” in the upper right corner) with your e-mail address and a password. After registering, you will receive an e-mail with a link to confirm your account (please check your spam folder). Click on the link in the confirmation e-mail to successfully complete your registration. Once you have logged in, your name will appear in place of the “login” option at the top of the page.

Why do I have to register?
In order to stream NFL films, you will need to register at the portal, so that we can provide help a necessary and guarantee a successful streaming experience. Please set up a CultureBase user account. To do so, click on “login” (upper right) and then “set up new account”. When you rent a film, you will be asked for your login data. Please note your login somewhere safe. Your registration also allows you to use the other portals that are part of the Kulturserver network.

What do I do if I forget my password?
On the login screen, click on “forgot password”, and enter the e-mail address associated with the account. You will receive a link via e-mail to reset your password.

What are the system requirements for streaming?
You can watch the festival films via streaming on a computer, a smart TV, a smartphone, or a tablet, as long as it can connect to the Internet. You should have the latest version of your web browser (we recommend Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) installed on your device.

What do I do if I need help?
If you experience technical difficulties, please e-mail and describe the problem. Use the e-mail address associated with your Culturebase account and tell us which film you are trying to stream. In urgent cases, you can reach the Nordische Filmtage Lübeck support staff at 0451 122 1239.

Access for accredited guests
Go to the streaming portal and set up a user account (by clicking on “login” in the upper right corner) with your e-mail address and a password. As an accredited industry professional, you will receive and accreditation code from us by e-mail shortly before the start of the festival. Use that code when you login. Once you are logged in, the portal will provide access rights.

What happens to my personal data after the festival is over?
We recommend that you maintain your account with the Kulturserver network so that you can use it for the next Nordische Filmtage Lübeck or other events and services available from Culturbase.
