Event Outstanding Films for Children
Date On 1st November 2019
Time 11:30 - 12:45
Location CineStar 4
Between the mainstream and the art house – entertaining and complex narratives for a young target audience
As part of the Nordische Filmtage Lübeck, the initiative Outstanding Films for Children will host a panel discussion with a sneak preview.
The year 2020 will see the start of production on the ninth and tenth films to come out of the initiative Outstanding Films for Children. From the story of a friendship in the guise of a western, to a scary comedy, a film about the pressures of school, a superhero story, musical, road movie, dance and sport film, a drama about a father of smaller stature, or an adventure in the Swabian Alb –since 2013, the initiative has produced a broad spectrum of narratives for children between six and twelve. As varied as the films are, what unites them is an original point of view on the challenges of being a child, and ambitious storytelling aimed at the target group. What is next? No worries – Plenty still lies ahead …
On the panel will be the team behind “Madison”, with an exclusive sneak preview of their film (opening in theatres Sept. 4, 2020), as well as Reza Memari and Maite Woköck, who are developing the initiative’s first animated film, “The Last Whale Singer”. We also look forward to welcoming partners of the initiative from the subsidy and television sectors. The panel will be moderated by Margret Albers (Förderverein Deutscher Kinderfilm e.V. / Association for the Promotion of German Children’s Film).
Fri., Nov 1, 11:30 - 12:45, CineStar 4, admittance is free
