Event 9th Lübeck Meetings
Date From 30th October 2019 to 2nd November 2019
Location various locations
The Lübeck Meetings are all the events that we and our partners organise for industry guests during the Nordische Filmtage Lübeck. They range from industry screenings to events about current developments in the industry, to receptions thrown by the Nordic and Baltic countries. Thus the Lübeck Meetings provide filmmakers and representatives of production, distribution, cinemas, and other industry institutions with an opportunity to explore content development and find potential partners from the Nordic and Baltic regions. The relaxed and informal atmosphere is as conducive to networking as to discovering the full range of the festival programme, ensuring that our industry guests enjoy returning to Lübeck year after year.
For three days during the festival, Lübeck Meetings showcases films from the festival (and beyond) in private screenings to key buyers, to support our films in finding wide distribution in Germany.

What do producers need to know and watch for when it's time to bring their films to market? What's the right strategy and what pitfalls should be avoided for an international and domestic premiere, and the following international roll-out and distribution?
Helge Albers (managing director, Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein film commission), Ewa Bojanowska (festival manager, New Europe Film Sales) and Stine Oppegaard (manager of international relations, feature films, Norwegian Film Institute) will share their insights and deliver practical information and advice. They’ll be joined by Katja Adomeit, talking about the opportunities and challenges of planning a premiere, using “The Orphanage”, which she produced, as an example.

Lübeck is a city dominated by water. The historic Old Town is encircled by two rivers, the Trave and the Wakenitz, and a canal. It has a long tradition as a place to shoot film and television, offering a diversity of locations. The Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein film commission invites producers to discover a fresh perspective on the city during a private boat trip. The trip will last ca. one hour, and also provide a relaxed setting for producers from Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein to mingle with potential co-production partners from Nordic and the Baltic countries.
